BRIGHT FUTURES ANNUAL TRAINING CONFERENCE 2017

To kick off the start of the new University year, we brought together all of the students who run Bright Futures societies across the UK to give them an invaluable day of training and a chance to network with employers! On Monday 11th September we held our annual National Training Conference for our Bright Futures Societies and Corporate Investors. This year it was held at Civil Service offices in Westminster, London.

On the day we had over 29 students attend from 18 UK Universities, and 9 of our corporate investors attending the afternoon networking session.

We started off with bingo which was an amazing way to break the ice and get everyone in the room mingling.

Blair spoke about The Bright Futures Mission, History and the Future. She also shared her knowledge of the Graduate recruitment market and gave us an insight into employers.

Khadijah spoke about Event management and gave an incredible website training.

Hannah spoke about the importance of marketing and personal brand.

We heard from Patrick Brown, Civil Service, on the opportunities Civil Service can offer students and graduates and how being part of Bright Futures can help build your career profile.

Highlights

These lovely students traveled all the way from Scotland just to take a selfie at our Training Conference – honestly, we feel honoured!

The caption definitely won them a hoodie- how could we not reward such creativity?

Now you see it…

Now you don’t…

Another winning tweet – we totally agree!

We love giving back, so, the winners for the best tweets won Bright Futures hoodies - well deserved!

We asked some of the Bright Futures students that attended the Training Conference what they thought of the day, this is what they had to say:

"Meeting employers of good companies, I got to find out that experience doesn’t matter all the time but rather it’s the personality and motivation they look for" - Queen Mary Bright Futures Society Committee

"Society Bingo was so fun!" - Nottingham Bright Futures Society Committee

Our employers also had great feedback!

"It was a good event and liked the fact we got to meet all the society university leads!"

It was great to see everyone getting involved and asking loads of questions and grabbing the opportunity to network with our corporate investors. It is also so great to see so many strong committee members going ahead into the new academic year. Overall, the day was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who joined us for an epic day!
