Don't know what to do after school? Digital Futures has the answer

Ali, Harry and Grace weren't sure what they wanted to do after school. But when they heard about Digital Futures they instantly made up their minds. Digital Futures connect the brightest creative minds with the biggest creative brands. You can see if it's your kind of thing here, but in the meantime read why the three young creatives can't wait to start at major media and advertising agencies later this year.

Ali, Media Apprentice

What made you go for an apprenticeship with Digital Futures?

Digital Futures were quick to respond to my application and extremely helpful from the outset. I entered this process with virtually no idea what I wanted to do following education, and Digital Futures have helped me to find not only an apprenticeship - but a career.

What are you looking forward to most?

I am looking forward to everything! I'm starting my advertising apprenticeship at Blue 449 next week and I can't wait to start learning, meeting new people, immersing myself in the industry and challenging myself.

What's the best bit about being an apprentice?

I feel that an apprenticeship holds a lot more opportunities than more traditional routes such as university. With an apprenticeship you are not only learning, but also gaining industry experience and contacts in a professional environment at a relatively young age - which is often valued hugely by employers.

Harry, Advertising Apprentice

What made you go for an apprenticeship with Digital Futures?

I went for an apprenticeship with Digital Futures because they allowed me to pursue a career in a new and developing industry that is very hard to get into.

What are you looking forward to most?

I am really looking forward to everything within my advertising apprentice at Grey London, but I am also really excited to try out new things and gain a qualification while doing something I love.

What's the best bit about being an apprentice?

The best thing about being an apprentice is being able to gain a qualification while doing something you really enjoy. I also think another great thing about being an apprentice is you can start working straight away without any experience and without needing to have a degree.

Grace, Advertising Apprentice

What made you go for an apprenticeship with Digital Futures?

Digital Futures have links to some fantastic companies, like BBH, where I got my apprenticeship. Previously, I had signed up with a couple of other agencies but Digital Futures are genuinely the best. They invite you in for an informal assessment day with future employers in the room too, so there is plenty of opportunities to ask questions. We were all treated to tea, coffee and pastries and got to know the Digital Futures team really well as people. They're a very friendly bunch who want to match you with the right apprenticeship!

What are you looking forward to most?

I'm looking forward to expressing my creative side in my Social Media apprenticeship at BBH. I'm also really looking forward to spending Friday's at the Digital Futures HQ working towards my NVQ with other apprentices. I met a really nice bunch of people at my Digital Futures assessment day and we've all kept in touch, so it'll be great to see them more often.

What's the best bit about being an apprentice?

Without a shadow of a doubt, the best thing about being an apprentice are the opportunities you are exposed to. As a graduate, it is so difficult to even get to an interview stage at sought after companies like Google or big ad agencies, who both take on apprentices. However,  as an apprentice, if you can demonstrate what kind of person you are to your recruitment agency, you're in with a chance of being seen by some amazing companies and being the subject of some serious jealously by all of your grad friends! This is because companies are more interested in personal qualities in an apprentice like curiosity and ambition over grades.
