Nestlé Skills & Assessment Days
Friday, 19th of June
Earlier this month, 138 students had the chance to claim their golden tickets and venture into the wonderful world of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG).
After months of scouring the country for top talent – shortlisted students from Dalston, York, Fawdon, Tutbury and Gatwick were asked to attend regional heats for global food and beverage giant Nestlé.
The prize? An opportunity to win coveted work placements at one of Nestlé's regional sites.
Ever wondered how some of our most loved products end up on supermarket shelves? Well these lucky souls had the opportunity to find out!
The Nestlé factory sites welcomed a diverse range of students through its pearly gates. And boy were they primed and ready to go! Students were put through their paces with a variety of challenges and activities ranging from energetic rounds of human bingo, to team tower building exercises and informative sessions learning about creating shared values.
Some students went on unique behind the scenes tours of their factory floors, where they got to see how our best known buys are made. A team of apprentices also joined students for portions of the day, speaking to them about their experiences in revealing Q&A sessions.
“The day was very well organised and had student focused activities.” said Diane Duguid the Head of Business at Keswick School at our Dalston event.
These days weren't solely focused on winning, they provided a fantastic opportunity for partcipants to network, learn and develop thier FMCG know how.
25 students have been awarded paid work placements this summer. Good luck to the winners!
We would like to say a big well done and thank you to all the finalists. We loved every minute of the Nestlé Skills and Assessment Day roadshow. Check out more photos below…
