Test your Programming Skills
Put your students’ programming skills to the test with PA’s Raspberry Pi competition!
We are pleased to let you know that PA’s fourth annual Raspberry Pi competition has launched for the 2015/16 academic year!
This year they are encouraging teams of students to use the Raspberry Pi to drive innovation in sport and leisure.
The competition has three entry categories, covering academic years 4 – 13, and the winning team in each category will receive a prize of £1,000.
Plus, the first 100 registration forms returned will receive a Raspberry Pi ‘starter kit’ worth £75! Closing date to submit your entry is 26th February 2016.
Why are they holding the competition?
The Raspberry Pi – a low-cost, credit-card-size computer – was launched with the intention of stimulating greater interest in the IT industry amongst students.
This year they are challenging entrants to use the Raspberry Pi and apply their coding skills to the world of sport and leisure.
Students can create anything to do with sport, leisure, training or nutrition… so encourage your team to get innovating! They could develop:
• wearable technology to monitor and track performance
• nutritional plans and training guides
• or how about a new piece of technology to be used in stadiums?
• or… anything else they can think of!
