Engineer Your Future

How would you encourage the next generation of girls to become engineers?

Challenge details

Crossrail is Europe’s largest engineering project. Almost a third of Crossrail Ltd’s jobs are filled by women compared to just 20% of job roles across the UK construction industry.

BUT Crossrail want to do better! They are looking at ways to boost the representation of women working in construction, particularly in engineering roles where the UK has the lowest representation of women of any European country, with just 8.5% of engineers being women.

They know that in order to leave a lasting legacy for the industry they are going to need to encourage a LOT more women and girls to become engineers. Have you got the innovative new idea that will see Crossrail leading the charge with a representative workforce?

Well then, what are you waiting for? We want to hear all about it!

The Prize

What’s more, the bright young ladies behind the top 30 ideas will be invited to an exclusive day at Crossrail HQ, where they will take part in a skills training session, speed-networking with top women in the Engineering and Construction industries, AND they will get access to a once in a lifetime Crossrail site tour! The top 5 winners will get a mentor for a year, who will provide virtual support and advice too!

Get those thinking hard hats on and let us know what your big idea is!
