About National STEM Centre
Effective provision of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education in schools requires a foundation of strong subject teaching. The National STEM Centre works with business, industry, charitable organisations, professional bodies and others with an interest in STEM education to facilitate closer collaboration and more effective support for schools and colleges, and promotion of STEM careers awareness
The National STEM Centre hosts the largest collection of free, quality resources for teachers of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in the UK. At the heart of the National STEM Centre is a purpose-built library, housing an extensive collection of resource materials for STEM subjects. On Thursday 8 July 2010, the Centre launched its eLibrary which currently contains over 300 collections and more than 6,700 individual teaching material.
The Centre provides facilities for STEM education partners to support their work with schools and colleges, including meeting rooms, event support, and hot-desking space. These facilities are available to partner organisations, schools and colleges – our STEM Associates.
