The Starbucks Story:
Our story began in 1971. Back then we were a roaster and retailer of whole bean and ground coffee, tea and spices with a single store in Seattle’s Pike Place Market. Today, we are privileged to welcome millions of customers through our doors every day, in more than 17,000 locations in over 50 countries.
Our mission: to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time.

Starbucks in the UK:
In May 1998, Starbucks successfully entered the European market through its acquisition of 65 Seattle Coffee Company stores in the UK. The two companies shared a common culture, focussing on a great commitment to customised coffee, similar company values and a mutual respect for people and the environment.
