Event details

We're calling on schools and other education providers in the Sunderland area to nominate their young people to participate in an exclusive Channel 4 Employability Workshop.

Who?

16-18 year olds who meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • At risk of becoming NEET
  • Low-middle attainer
  • Attends a school with a high FSM%
  • Furthest from the job market

What?

A jam-packed employability skills workshop with C4, through which students will learn key employability skills plus tips and tricks to starting a career in the media industry.

The day will be kick-started with a buffet breakfast, after which, students will participate in a series of employability sessions as part of small groups. The aim of this morning event is to empower young talent to become work-ready and learn essential employability skills

Each young person will also be given useful resources to take away to support and encourage them to excel in education, employment or training.

What next?

At the end of the morning, students will have the opportunity to apply for a place on the C4 Work Experience Programme, taking place in December 2018.

C4 will also be looking out for individuals from each session who stand out as "Rising Stars". Rising Stars are chosen because of their potential. Those selected will be invited to an exclusive all expenses paid experience day at Channel 4 (date TBC).

How can my students apply to attend?

Teachers or influences should identify a small number of students who would benefit from this opportunity and click the "contact MyKindaFuture" button at the top of the page to leave: institution name, post code, contact telephone number and any questions.

Please note: all students must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Channel 4 is an equal opportunities employer and encourage applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.

The venue will be wheelchair accessible and we can assist with any support or adjustments needed. Please contact Chanelle or the School Partnerships Team on 0207 620 4463 (option 1) or email chanelle@mykindafuture.com should you need any assistance.
