An invite to a Skills & Assessment day near you, if selected on this day you can go on to…
1 week’s work experience at Allen & Overy offices in London, with up to 60 students from different schools.
1 year of mentoring from an employee at Allen & Overy through year 13.
The chance to apply for a bursary to help with university expenses.

How did the Smart Start Experience help develop your knowledge and skills?

The programme lets you showcase yourself, with confidence develop knowledge on the structure of corporate law firms and other business’ in the city and improves teamwork skills and time management. Employers love all of these skills and love it even more, when you can back it up with real-world experience!
What was the best thing you learned during The Smart Start Experience?
“Smart Start taught me the many different branches and sectors within law. It gave me an insight into just how wide the job sector can be, from Business Services, Marketing, BD and Communications”.

The highlight of the week for Hafsa was having the opportunity to meet “like-minded people with similar goals and ambitions”. Experiences like these provide grads with the drive to work harder. Not only did Smart Start help Hafsa’s work profile it also encouraged Hafsa to “excel and become the best version of myself”.
Other highlights for grads included co-operation tasks, working in teams, making new friendships, developing confidence and communication skills.
Finally, according to Asha, one of the 2017 grads, Smart Start teaches you that it does not matter “where you are from or your circumstances you can still get where you want”.
