Concept to Catwalk - the results are in!
Thursday, 5th of February
Have you ever thought about what people might be wearing 100 years from now? We asked budding designers to submit futuristic fashion ideas for the Concept to Catwalk challenge. And boy, did they deliver. We received interesting creations in droves, think robots, crazy inventions and out of this world designs.
From vibrant mood boards, which looked at the possibilities of wearable tech, to colourful samples and sketches that played on the idea of a futuristic utopia – our judging panel were impressed with the rich range of original submissions.
Some of the ideas were developed at our Inspiration Day earlier in 2014, prominent designers Wayne Hemmingway and Alex Echo encouraged aspiring fashionistas to delve into the world of future trends.
After a lot of deliberation, 8 schools have been shortlisted and will progress to the next stage where they will be working with MA Material Futures students from Central St. Martins to see their concepts come to life. Congratulations to the winning schools:
• Woodside High School
• Sutton Grammar School
• Haberdashers Askes School
• The Ellen Wilkinson School
• Prendergast School
• Sarah Bonnell School
• Ursuline School
• Christ's School
Well done to all the winners!
