The 2014 Energy Challenge Final!
The 21st March 2014 saw an array of students from all over the country head down to the University Of East Anglia for the mighty 2014 Energy Challenge final and what a day it was!
Here we explain the competition format and how we managed to choose one winner from over 50 teams...
Back in December 2013 when the Energy Challenge launched, we did not foresee over 50 teams entering; all with amazing and innovative ideas. From those 54 teams who entered (from 17 different Universities), npower and MyKindaCrowd filtered through all the submissions to handpick 17 fantastic teams to make a video for the next stage of the competition.
Some of our favorites feature below:
From this selection of videos we picked six teams to attend a training and workshop day at the npower Swindon Headquarters. This was a great day for the teams to get feedback and support on their ideas as well as meet each other!
Next up was the final, less than two weeks later. With all teams nervous but excited the day kicked of with the lively and vibrant ‘Go Green Energetics’ (Lancaster University), followed by ‘Ardua Concepts’ (Birmingham University), then ‘MyPower’ (University of Warwick).
The second half of the presentations commenced with the ‘4 Marketeers’ (UWE), followed by ‘Legal Dynamic Solutations’ (University of East Anglia), and lastly ‘MyEnergyPal’ (University of Nottingham Trent).
After much deliberation the very difficult decision of picking a winning team was made!
The runners up of the 2014 Energy Challenge were:
MY ENERGY PAL
And the amazing winners were:
From everyone here at MyKindaCrowd, we would like to thank all the teams who entered, UEA for hosting the competition and most importantly all six finalists groups for the hard work and effort they put into this competition.
