World Toilet Day

Did you know that in your lifetime you’ll spend on average three years sitting on the toilet? And, that the flush was invented by Thomas Crapper?! Or that more people in the world have a mobile phone then a toilet. Crazy huh?!

On November 19th 2013, MyKindaCrowd will join WaterAid in celebrating World Toilet Day and saying #ThankYourToilet to Louie the Loo, our unsung hero!

Watch Louie the Loo in action here.

This short film, created by international charity WaterAid, sees this apparently normal toilet come to life in the middle of the night and sing its heart out for some recognition.

Louie the Loo says: “It’s no fun being a toilet. We get called all sorts of names! Bog. Crapper. WC (I think it’s French?). EVERYONE takes you for granted. When was the last time you said, “Thank you toilet!” after your number ones and twos? I’ll bet never. But you’d miss us if we weren’t there, wouldn’t you?”

World Toilet Day is officially recognised by the UN for the first time this year. The day was created to raise global awareness of the struggle faced by the 2.5 billion people, that’s 1 in 3 people in the world, currently living without access to a safe, clean and private toilet.

Please use #ThankYouToilet to tweet us thank you messages to your toilet! Here at the MyKindaCrowd HQ we want to say a very big #ThankYourToilet to our loo for putting up with all 13 of us every single day! What a trooper!

Once you have tweeted us your thank you messages, why not have a go at the great WaterAid challenge here.

Good luck!

p.s. we’ve heard that the world’s most expensive toilet is solid gold and worth over £3 million! She lives in Hong Kong and is a total diva!
