Allen & Overy want to know what you would do on your first day as Prime Minister!

Challenge details

A Prime Minister makes lots of important decisions during their time in office. These decisions often affect everyone in the UK and can change the way we live our lives.

Whether its about youth unemployment, cuts to the welfare system, university fees, the price of London transport, or even what we study when we are at school - it is all determined by Government decisions!

In 200 words, we want you tell us what you would do on your first day as Prime Minister. What important decisions would you make?

Would you try and radically change the way the country was being run, or would you make smaller changes that would have a gradual impact over time?

You might want to think about:

  • What are you focusing on and why is it important to you?
  • What is the first thing you would do on your initial day as Prime Minister?
  • Who will be affected by your changes and actions?
  • How will you start to make these changes on your first day?

The Prize

If your submission is successful, you will be invited to attend an Allen & Overy skills and assessment day where you will receive a City & Guilds certificate for your efforts and input on the day. This event will happen on Tuesday the 30th June, so please keep it free.

Following the skills and assessment day, 60 participants will be selected to receive one week's work experience on the award-winning and City & Guilds accredited Smart Start Experience programme. Participants will be offered further advice and support via an e-mentoring programme as well as the opportunity to apply for a bursary towards the costs of their University studies. The work experience will commence on the 6th July 2015 so please also keep this week free.
