Connecting young people with apprenticeships
In 2019, we partnered for the first time with Smith & Williamson, to help them address a lack of awareness of their brand among potential apprentices.
We helped the financial firm implement a new programme of support during their recruitment cycle, from initial application through to final assessment centre.
The newly designed assessment day features a comprehensive programme – beginning with a welcome and overview, moving to a group exercise and interview with a partner. It then finishes with a written exercise and a networking lunch with Smith & Williamson trainees.
It’s all structured to create a greater sense of connection with the company among young people and to allow strong candidates to perform their best when assessed.
As a result, Smith & Williamson offered 27 young people an apprenticeship opportunity this year. They also reported that the quality of the candidate cohort had increased dramatically from previous years.
